Although the scope of Ultrasonics Sonochemistry covers such "not pure sonochemical" topics as synthesis of materials, acoustic and hydrodynamic cavitation, sonocrystallization, etc., number of such paper remains limited.
 
The main goal of this special issue is to attract papers on a wider range of issues related to Sonoprocessing of Materials, including Sonoprocessing of liquids and molten metals, gaseous phases and solids, aiming at establishing new links and collaborations between scientists with complementary interests.

Ultrasonics Sonochemistryは、材料合成、音響・流体キャビテーション、超音波結晶化などの「純粋なソノケミカルではない」トピックについてもカバーしていますが、このようなトピックから出版された論文は限定的です。本特集号は、液体、溶融金属、気相、固体のソノプロセシングを含む、材料ソノプロセシングに関連する幅広い分野の論文を集め、相互補完的な関心を持つ科学者間の新しい連携と協力関係を確立することを主な目的としています。
